Educational Technology Services Training & Workshop Dates

Educational Technology Services (ETS) has requested we forward you the following information regarding additional instructional continuity programming next week.

Please note, due to the high volume of support requests from faculty and most staff being deployed to support the existing workshops and drop-in sessions, they highly encourage you to attend one of these trainings, use their online resources, or to attend a drop-in session (additional information listed below) as a first step. They will answer emails, phone calls and consultation requests as they are able.

TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS

ETS Continuity of Instruction Online Workshop
Format: Online via Zoom
Duration: 2 hours
Description: Learn the basics for online synchronous teaching, lecture recording, online office hours, setting up your gradebook and more.
Date/Time: Monday through Wednesday – 10AM and 2PM; Thursday and Friday – 2PM

Keep Teaching, with Zoom
Format: Online via Zoom and In-Person
Duration: 1 hour
Description: A deeper dive with Zoom, including using Zoom for online synchronous classes, lecture recording, office hours, and small group work.
Date/Time: Monday through Thursday – 10AM online; Monday and Tuesday – 2PM in-person in GL 213

Keep Teaching, with Canvas – Assignments, Discussions and Gradebook
Format: Online via Zoom and In-Person
Duration: 1 hour
Description: A deeper dive with Canvas, including how to set up assignments, create discussion forums, and get set up with the Canvas gradebook.
Date/Time: Monday through Thursday – 10AM online; Monday and Tuesday – 10AM in-person in GL 213

Keep Teaching, with Canvas – Quizzes and Gradebook
Format: Online via Zoom and In-Person
Duration: 1 hour
Description: A deeper dive with Canvas, including how to set up quizzes, create different types of quiz questions, and get set up with the Canvas gradebook.
Date/Time: Monday through Thursday – 2PM online; Monday and Tuesday – 2PM in-person (location TBD)

DROP-IN SESSIONS

ETS will host online and in-person drop-in sessions on Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17, from 11:00AM – 1:00PM and 3:00 – 5:00PM. During these times, ETS staff will be on hand to answer questions and do mini-consultations. To drop-in in-person, please come to GL 213.
