Making Hybrid Public Speaking A Success

Michael Hammond’s presentation focused on how faculty can provide students with a variety of unique public speaking opportunities by catering individual tasks to suit the presentation dynamics and rhetorical situations created by the hybrid format. This approach includes traditional in-person speeches in front of a live audience, synchronous interactive argumentative discussions using Zoom, and asynchronous video presentations that embrace delivery strategies popular with podcasters and YouTubers.
